Passenger traffic at Turkey’s Antalya Airport falls 67% in Jan-Feb

Passenger numbers at Turkey’s Antalya Airport declined by an annual 67% to 583,689 in the first two months of 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic, the operator of the airport, Germany’s Fraport Group, said on Thursday.

Aircraft movements decreased by 61% in the January-February period to 4,810, Fraport Group said in a statement.

Data about cargo handled at the airport was not available for the review period.

All of Fraport’s Group’s airports worldwide, except Xi’an in China, recorded traffic declines on an annual comparison basis in February, the group said.

Elsewhere in Southeast Europe, Fraport operates airports in the Slovenian capital Ljubljana and the Bulgarian Black Sea cities of Varna and Burgas.
