Air Serbia will increase frequencies on its Belgrade – New York service ahead of schedule due to strong demand ahead of the Easter holidays in the United States.
Starting March 22, the Serbian carrier will operate three weekly rotations between the two cities with its Airbus A330-200 aircraft, each Monday, Thursday and Saturday.
The airline plans to operate up to five weekly flights on the route during the summer.
“The addition of another weekly flight to New York, despite the coronavirus pandemic, is a clear indicator that our transatlantic connection functions well and that it represents one of Air Serbia’s strongest routes. The United States is a very important market for us, and we are glad to provide continuous and strong flight connectivity, not just for Serbia, but also the broader region”, Jiri Marek, Air Serbia’s General Manager for Commercial and Strategy, said.
Since the resumption of flights to the United States on June 6, 2020 until February 28, 2021, the national airline operated 218 flights between Belgrade and New York, carrying a total of 38.187 passengers.
